Clinical Healthcare Jobs We Place
Some of the positions we place include (in alphabetical order):
Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA)
Clinical medical assistants perform both clinical and administrative duties to keep outpatient medical facilities or private physician offices functioning smoothly. Duties for clinical medical assistants can vary greatly from office to office. Some of the duties include assisting a qualified physician in an office or other clinical setting, performing technical duties such as recording patient history, vital signs, administering injections and venipuncture and assisting the physician with other minor procedures. While some clinical medical assistants receive on-the-job training, the majority of them complete specialized vocational training programs that provide certification preferred by most employers.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Licensed vocational nurses provide care to people who are injured, sick or disabled, typically under the discretion of registered nurses and/or physicians. Licensed vocational nurses are trained in basic and advanced nursing techniques and direct patient care. Duties include measuring and recording vital signs, administering injections and enemas, dressing wounds, monitoring catheters and assisting patients in bathing, dressing and eating. Licensed vocational nurses must graduate from a state-approved school of nursing, pass the professional nursing board examination and maintain an LVN license to practice within the state.
Registered Nurse (RN)
Registered nurses help to treat the injured, disabled or sick, providing education, advice and support to patients and family members. Registered nurses are trained in basic to advanced nursing techniques and direct patient care. Duties include recording medical history and patient symptoms, performing and analyzing diagnostic tests, administering medications or other treatment, and assisting in rehabilitation and follow up. Registered nurses must graduate from a school of nursing that is state-approved, pass the professional nursing state board examination and possess an RN license from a State Board of Nursing.
Registered Nurse Case Manager (RN)
Registered nurse case managers work to ensure that every medical need of severely sick or injured patients is met. This is done by coordinating the overall interdisciplinary plan of care for a patient, from administration to discharge. Registered nurse case managers act as liaison between the patient and healthcare personnel to ensure necessary care is provided promptly and effectively. Registered nurse case managers must undergo all of the requirements to become a registered nurse and possess two to four years of clinical experience.
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Nurse practitioners assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients and manage common illnesses. This type of nurse provides a blend of primary and specialty healthcare services to patients. While nurse practitioners commonly work in family practice, women’s health, pediatrics, adult practice, geriatrics or acute care, they can also choose specialties such as mental health and neonatology. Nurse practitioners incorporate medical skills into the practice of nursing and must possess an advanced nursing license.
Physician Assistant (PA)
Physician assistants are individuals who perform certain aspects of the practice of medicine under the direction of a supervising physician or surgeon, including preventive, therapeutic and diagnostic services. Duties include recording medical histories, ordering and analyzing lab work and diagnosing and treating patients. Some physician assistants are allowed to prescribe medicine, order medical supplies and supervise other assistants or technicians. Physician assistants are specially trained by an accredited education program and must pass a national exam to obtain licensing.
